1996 – Project Development Worker and Therapeutic Counsellor
Commissioned by Deptford City Challenge Plc and Lewisham and Guys Mental Health Trust to set up a pilot project in the community for people hearing ‘voices’. Service since 2001 now funded through South London and Maudsley Health Trust and Managed through Community Opportunity Service in the London Borough of Lewisham Mental Health Services South East London.

1994 - 1996 Community Psychiatric Nurse in Day Centre & in Community based Mental Health Team SE London.

Trustee & member of Hearing Voices Network (based in Manchester) Charity Member of Management Committee of Bridge 86 a Not for Profit Company in Greenwich. Working with People using mental health services.

Biography

Born in Singapore of mixed race Anglo/Chinese/Malay, spent time living in Sarawak (now East Malaysia), three years on a tramp steamer on South China Seas and Indian Ocean, two years semi itinerant lifestyle in port city, two and half years working on chicken farm in West Australia, two years in orphanage in UK fishing port of Hull, two and half years with foster parents in UK sea side resort of Bridlington, two and half year as junior soldier in North Wales UK, 11 years in British Army as Army Trained Nurse, then Registered General Nurse before leaving to enter University of Sussex (Brighton).
